Nou, er zijn wel 800 soorten Eucalyptus! Daarvan komen er slechts twee in mijn tuin voor. De ene boom is inmiddels groter dan mijzelf en heeft prachtige, eivormige, grijzige bladeren. Ook in de winter, trouwens. Deze bladeren laten zich heel gemakkelijk printen. Mits je je aan de EcoPrintregels houdt, heb je gegarandeerd succes. Heel dankbaar!
We hebben de boom het afgelopen seizoen bijna kaal geplukt. Het gevolg was dat ik halverwege het printseizoen een ‘plukstop’ heb moeten invoeren om de overlevingskansen van deze boom te vergroten. Na determinatie denk ik dat het hier gaat om de Eucalyptus Cinerea. 

De andere Eucalyptusboom heb ik afgelopen jaar gekocht onder de naam Eucalyptus Gunnii. Door de droogte bleven de blaadjes lang klein. Ze bleken bij het EcoPrintproces weinig kleurstof af te geven. Daarom heb ik ze vooral gebruikt als negatiefjes in de vorm van confetti. Het was wel opvallend dat de steeltjes van deze Eucalyptus wel een rode kleurstof afgaven. Daar heb ik natuurlijk dankbaar gebruik van gemaakt. Happy winter!

Well, there are 800 types of Eucalyptus! Only two of them are found in my garden. The one tree is now larger than myself and has beautiful, egg-shaped, gray leaves. Even in winter, by the way. These leaves can be printed very easily. Provided you adhere to the EcoPrint rules, it is guaranteed to work. Very grateful!
We picked the tree almost bare last season. The result was that I had to introduce a ‘picking stop’ halfway through the printing season to increase the chances of survival of this tree. After identification, I think that this is the Eucalyptus Cinerea.

I bought the other Eucalyptus tree last year with the name Eucalyptus Gunnii. The leaves remained small for a long time due to the drought. They appeared to give off little color in the EcoPrint process. That is why I mainly used them as negatives in the form of confetti. It was striking that the stems of this Eucalyptus did give off a little bit of red. Of course I gratefully made use of it. Happy winter!
